1985 Established as a distributor of living benefits. 1988 Designed our first DI plan with ALICO. 1989 Designed a DI plan with Abbey Life and developed an agency distribution. 1993 Designed and distributed Provider Series with Abbey Life/Hartford Life. 1994 -1996 Provider became the most successful DI plan on the market with over $18 Million of new premium in 3 years. 1996 Decided to control our own destiny and develop or own plans. Incorporated The Edge Benefits Inc. Became a TPA and launched The Roadside Edge insured by certain underwriters at Lloyds of London. 1997 Developed and distributed the Trades Edge. 1998 Partnered with Ingle Life to develop a new plan called Disability Advantage. 2001 The Edge DI Plan was developed with Provident Life and Accident (UPC) as the underwriter. 2003 The Edge plans became the exclusive Conditionally Renewable (CR) DI Plan for UPC. 2004 UnumProvident Canada was purchased by RBC Life Insurance Company, and they became the insurer of the Edge DI Plans. ALL edge plans are owned by The Edge Benefits Inc. with various Insurers as Underwriters.
